Kismaro vs OmeTV
OmeTV is the biggest random video chat site running, and if you want to be matched in two seconds at any hour of the night it is the right answer. This page is about the things it does not do — and the one important thing it does better than us.

What OmeTV does better
The crowd. This is the whole thing. OmeTV has years of accumulated users and we have months. Set a narrow country filter at four in the morning and OmeTV finds someone while we find nobody. No amount of engineering fixes that this year.
The apps. Real applications on Google Play and the App Store, properly built. Kismaro runs in a phone browser, which works, but it is not an icon on a home screen.
Translation. OmeTV translates between languages inside the chat, which makes a match with someone who shares no language with you into a conversation instead of a dead end.
No sign-in. Press a button and go. We ask you to sign in first, and we lose visitors over it every day.
What Kismaro does that OmeTV does not
The age check is real. OmeTV asks you to confirm you are 18 with a click and nothing sits behind it. Kismaro asks for a date of birth on its own screen, once, and it can never be edited afterwards. This is the exact design decision a court refused to protect when it ended Omegle — not a technicality.
Your camera has to show you. A face check runs in your browser every few seconds. A camera pointed at a ceiling, a photograph or a looping recording ends the call. OmeTV does not do this, which is why a proportion of what you meet there is not a person at all.
Voice is a full mode. OmeTV is video. Kismaro has a separate voice-only queue with its own people, and a text queue as well.
No profile layer. OmeTV has photos and followers attached to it. If you came for a random conversation rather than an account, that is friction, not a feature — what anonymous means here.
Nothing behind a paywall. There is no paid tier at all, so no filter and no queue position is ever held back.

Which one should you use
Use OmeTV if being matched instantly matters more than anything else, you want an app, or you will not sign in to anything. Those are all legitimate and we are not going to argue you out of them.
Use Kismaro if you would rather meet fewer people and have them be real ones — a confirmed age and a camera showing a face — or if you want voice without video, or if you do not want a profile attached to a random conversation.
Most people should try both. They take four minutes between them, and the difference is obvious within about five matches. The full ranked list has six more options if neither fits.
Frequently asked questions
Is Kismaro better than OmeTV?
For safety, yes: Kismaro has a real age check and requires your camera to show a face, and OmeTV has neither. For speed of matching, no: OmeTV has far more people online and matches faster at any hour.
Does OmeTV verify age?
No. OmeTV asks you to confirm you are 18 with a click and nothing sits behind it, which is how almost every site in this category handles it.
Is there an OmeTV alternative without an app?
Kismaro runs entirely in a browser on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install and no permissions granted beyond the tab.
Does Kismaro have translation like OmeTV?
No. OmeTV translates inside the chat and that is a genuine advantage for cross-language matches. Kismaro does not.
Is OmeTV free?
It is free to start and sells a paid tier. Kismaro has no paid tier at all.
